UME role for executing BEx-Applications

Hi Experts,

 

we have configured SAP CRM 7.0 to display a BEx- Web Application that we have created in BI and that is accessed via trusted RFC-connection. When the BI-user is supplied with PFCG role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN then the access works fine. However, when removing this role from the user we get an RFC-error.

 

Apparently, in UME role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN is mapped to the Administrator role which is why we we don't want to grant this role to our users in our production system. So the idea now is the create another PFCG role and then map it to a UME role which has less authorization but still allows for the execution of BEx Web Applications.

 

Is this the right approach? Which UME role would be suitable?

Hierarchy restriction in rows in bex for amount field?

Hi Bex experts,

 

We have a requirement to restrict a node in hierarchy along with the flag for each row. For example if a hierarchy is having

 

Root

     n1

          n2

               n3

                    child1

                    child 2

                    ...

 

                    child 10.

n5

          n6

               n7

                    child1

                    child 2

                    ...

 

                    child 10.

 

n8

     n9.

 

I need a report like a description along with a flag restriction and a particular node with all its child under that description. For example.

 

Travel and Leisure as the description and it will be restricted with n2 and children/nodes below it. we should be able to expand n2 and see n3 and see its children till last level, I also need to restrict a flag for each of the row description for that category. I mean if that flag is for example flag 1 then the amount for that row for all the hierarchy under it should display. Please see the below screenshot sample.

 

In brief, user want a row name for a particular node name in the hierarchy and each row has a particular flag ...like flag 1 for travel category and flag 2 for ticket category etc. Hope I am clear. Please advise how to do this in bex. Please post questions if you are not clear. can we create a structure and restrict a particular hierarchy node in that structure along with the flag ?

Will it be possible to create Bex Query in BW without involving in creating a cube having SAP ECC 7.0 connection to it.?

Selection Parameter behivour

Hi All,

 

We have two Multiprovider's and few queries on each. In one MP if I first select company code then Employee parameter will show only those employees which are belonging to that selected company in F4 help. But when Company parameter is blank then Employee parameter shows all employees iin F4 help.

 

But in second MP Employee parameter shows all the values of employees while doing F4 if I select any company code value or not .

 

Which situation is correct and why as normally F4 help shows the posted values of master data, it don't have any concerns with other parameter.

Both parameter's are Manual and Multiple Value parameter's.

 

Please suggest.

can you save a favorite workbook to another query?

We have changed our secuiryt model and becaueof this we had to create copies of queries with new technical names.  The users have created favorites off the old query.  Is that anyway to swamp out the old query with the new in the workbook and have it retain the layout?  I tried changing the query but when I do that it doens't retain the layout.

 

Any suggestions other than having the users recreate?  Can we maybe update soem tables to refernece the new query?

Feed data to dashboard from BeX

Hi All,

 

I have requirement in which I need to display 4 graphs based on 4 dimensions:

 

a) Company Code - CC

b) Profit Centre - PC

c) Location - LO

d) Products. - PR

 

The graphs are to be made in such a way that user can slice and dice on dimensions.

 

As of now, we have made an excel sheet in which there are different permutations and combinations of 4 dimension mentioned above. For example:

 

for example, if user wants to see the graphs on Company Code  'AB' then the data in excel sheet is in format:

 

AB ALL ALL ALL 500 (Amount)

 

Now, if user wants to see the report on Company Code 'AB' and Location North then the data in excel sheet is in format:

 

AB ALL NORTH ALL 400 (Amount)

 

Likewise, we have to make different permutation and combination of 4 dimensions and the source of data is SAP BW.

 

So, how should we proceed with the design of cubes or BeX in SAP. Please help.

BEX Workbook: Set analysis grid range dynamically

Hi Experts,

 

I have been working on this workbook for days (FYI: I am not an expert in excel macros :-) ).

There are 2 queries in serted in my workbook.

1st query range : Rows 15 - 88

2nd query range: Rows 90 - 122

Now the queries are basically structures which are expandable and collapsable. Now, when I collapse an element in query1, the range for query 1 becomes 15 - 75. Means rows 76 - 88 will be shown as blank lines. My aim is to avoid this. Is there any means by which we can set the range for the 2nd query dynamically so that I can manipulate the same and set as 76 - 109???

Conversion Type, add available target currency

Hi all,

We've been running a report whose KF may be shown in EUR or GBP depending what user wants through a Conversion Type and a variable created for the target currency.

Everything is properly done, and checked this docs:

Now we have a third currency TRY.  We have replicated exchange currency types from our sourcesystem, TCURR and TCURC are fine showing the new currency and the new exchange types.

However, when running the report, the third currency is not displayed amongst the available currencies.

Ageing Buckets for whole query

Dear All,

 

I have to make a BEx query on meter characteristics. No keyfigures

 

The whole information should shown against buckets (current date - disconnection date of meter)

 

 

0-30 days     Customer     Meter No     Meter Type     Zone

31-60 days   Customer     Meter no.     Meter Type     Zone.

 

I tried making selections with disconnection date (0calday value range variable 0dat-30to 0dat-0    and   0dat-60 to 0dat-31). I included a dummy keyfigure (disconnection amount) in selection

 

But data isn't coming according to conditions. Any suggestions please.

Date formula variable in BEx output

Dear All,

 

In Bex , I made a formula variable F_CURDATE and used it in formula. I fill it with current date

 

 

l_s_range-low = sy-datum.

 

My value in BEx comes 201,40,604. This is 04 Jun 2014.

 

Why isn't it coming in date format. I then, used data function [date]'process value as date. The output shows value X.

 

How can I show  date in date format in BEx?

Query as Source

Hi Guys,

Need suggestion on a issue i am trying to figure from long time.

I am using a BEx 7.0 query as source in APD. There is an attribute key figure(data type = Number and sample data in cube is 100,000) in the rows of query.

When i run the APD i dont see data being populated in result DSO.

I also only run intermediate result for the first step which is query only and still i dont see data in result.

I tried to create a new APD and used its master data object as source and run the intermediate result and then the data shows.

 

Not sure why from query its not showing. All settings seems fine.

Can you please suggest what happening and if any setting to be done.

Bex Query Variants Information

I have 15 variants created for a Bex Query - QUERY1, I would like to know which SAP Tables does this variants get stored. Out of these 15 variants, I would also like to know among these which are Global Vs Personal variants.

 

Could you please share your inputs.

Cancel a Bex Web Execution

Hi,

Our users are asking for a cancel button inside the Bex Web 7.x / 3.x report. Both inside the report as well as in the variable screen.

 

Imagine this scenario:

A user  spend considerable amount of time adjusting the layout for his purpose and goes back to the variable screen. Then he accidentally executes a way to large dataset (forget to restrict) and wants to cancel it so he can enter the correct restriction (without loosing his worked out layout). Basically a cancel button inside the variable screen. Same would be good in case you start a drill down on a very granular characteristic inside the web report and want to cancel that navigation step.

 

I am primarily looking for this for Bex 7.x but solutions in 3.x is also of interest.

 

Anyone seen a solution for this?

WAD: Inhibit Export Text Web Item

There is a Text-Web-Item in our Template which is not bound in the export command.

That´s why this Text-Web-Item was never exported in the past.

 

Now we´ve made a upgrade from SAP BW 7.0 to SAP BW 7.31.

And now the same Text-Web-Item will be exported (even though it is still not bounded in the export command).

 

We´ve found out that this problem (under SAP BW 7.31) only exists if a Text-Web-Item is inside a container.

Text-Web-Items that are outside of a container still won´t be exported.

 

Any ideas how to prevent this Item from export?

Translation of BW objects (queries, workbooks)

Hi,

 

we have a lot of queries and workbooks which are containing structures/ key values etc. named in german. As we are get more international we have to translate these descriptions into english.

 

I tried to select a workbook in the RSA1 - Translation. I then opened a transport order and get into the SLXE_MASTER.

I created a graph, a translator. Now as far as I understand I have to assign a collection to a translator - the collection the workbook I've selected in RSA1, right? But if I try to find this collection the result is empty.

 

Does somebody have a clue (or a better way to translate the objects)?

 

Any help is appreciated.

Easy query is not showing on Easy query Management(Browser)

Dear all,

 

          I want to consume a bex query into SAP UI5. For that I found this document:-

     In this document, the first step is to define a query as EasyQuery. So I checked the option "By Easy Query" under Release for External Access.

     After this I checked in Easy Query Management using EQMANAGER tcode, but there was no entry found for this query. It was blank.
