If we have couple of free characteristics on the report, However is there a way we can hide these characteristics for only some users and display for rest of the users on the same report? Please see attached picture for more info. Please let me know your views on these?

I have BEx Query with runs well on EP. my client wants to filter the query result based on employee role in EP.
I have 8 Purchasing group. Currently query displays all the 8 Purchasing group records, now client wants to have filter on Purchasing group based on roles or authorisations of user in EP.
Say I am HOD of Production purchasing group. now when I will login in the EP and try to run the report by defualt I will get all the results related of Production purchasing group. other 7 purchasing groups will be excluded and this filter's can't be altered as well. Say If I am viewing Production Purchasing Group records then I cant change to some another purchasing group records.
I have no clue how to do this. Please help me to understand how to solve this requirement. I will greatly appreciate your any reply.

Hi Experts,
I have created a New Formula(Ex:- Dispatches * 2) in BEx Analyzer report. The result of the "New Formula" is 2000. When I maintain Scaling Factor as "1000" to the New Formula properties, the result should be 2 but here 2000 is coming again.
When I maintain this property to the existing keyfigure in Analyzer report, it is working fine.
Please help me in this whether Scaling Factor can be applied to the New Formula or not in BEx Analyzer report. If it works, what changes we have to make to the New formula.

Requirement:
what want to do is, if Booking Date and Arrival Date is within 90 days get the SO count. I want to use RKF (Restricted KF) and CKF (Calculated KF) for this whole calculation.
What i did was created CKF and 2 formula variables using replacement path referencing two dates mentioned above.i used logic (ZBOOKDT - ZARRDT) <= 90 * 0 + 1.
How do i use the result from CKF in my RKF and get the result i want?

Hi all,
I've installed SAP GUI version 7.30 (file 50120297_6.ZIP downloded from SAP pages).
After installation SAP GUI is working without any problems.
BEx Analyzer has been installed as well, but I am not able to start it.,
Any time I select Analyzer in Windows START menu or I use t-code RRMX in BW system,
nothing happens. I don't receive any error message, no information is displayed at all.
Also Microsoft Excel is not called. Simply no reaction.
I tried to install front end patch gui730_9-10010496 but it didn't help.
We have following versions installed:
Microsoft Widnows Server 2008 Standard
Microsoft Excel 2007
SAP GUI 7.30
BW version 7.0
BW support package level 29
Could be the problem caused by MS Excel 2007? Is it necessary to switch on any setting in Excel?

I need help to address one scenario in one of the Dispute Case query i am working on. Recently i added some new case status to the query filter. There is a key figure which uses a formula variable using Replacement path to calculate the 'Average number of days(Closed)'. The value will be the difference between the closed date and created date. For the cases i added they are not closed yet so there is no closed date but only created date. So for these cased i get the negative values as 'Average number of days' which is incorrect. Can i put the key figure value as Zero when there are no closed date?

The figure in RED is the wrong one..How ca I make it calculate so that the result will be 30%?

Status and Percentage are FORMULA...
In the CALCULATIONS tab of STATUS, the CALCULATE RESULT AS is set as TOTAL..
Status = (Actual <= Target) * 1 + 0
Percentage = Status %A Number of Transactions
But this must be the CORRECT OUTPUT:

Generally we build the jump queries in RSBBS and do the config to create jump query link from summary report to a detail report.
I know how to find the relationship for set of queries whether they have jump queries or not.
But I don't know if I have the detail query and now I need to find the parent query. I have a requirement in which the list of queries ( child queries - detail queries ) and need to find the Parent Query ( summary report) .
Steps to find the Jump query links (like summary to details query relationship).. Follow the below steps.
Similary I need to know how to find if I have Child query ( detail report ) and now I need to find the Parent report ( summary report). I tried finding out but did not succeed. Need your assistance.
Looking forward for your inputs.

Can anyone share with me how to copy and paste a list of material no from Excel to the selection variable in BEX analyzer? We have a requirement to copy a list of material (eg: 100 material no) from Excel into the selection variable instead of entering manually. Besides, material no in the Excel file is always change for each execution. Please advice.

I am getting X value in the subtoral of column - "Local within 24Hrs %"
Local within 24% = local with24 hrs %A local count.
And Local within 24 hours = Order date - Invoice date.
I think X is displaying because system is not able to understand which dates to take to subtract as there are 2 different dates for 2 records.
Kindly advise how to show value in place of X.

I have a requirement of creating a Bex Report in which there will four variable prompt - 2 on 0VENDOR ( say Vendor1 and Vendor2 )and 2 on 0VENDOR-DUNS Number. The client want the report should display 'Complaint' to be displayed in a new field at the report level if they have pass value to 'VENDOR1' variable and 'Non Complaint' value in the New field if they pass vendor value to 'VENDOR2' variable.
Similarly for other two variables.
Kindly suggest, I am need of very urgent deliverable timeline.

We are noticing Queries run 2x time fatsre on Web/Portal when compared to executing on BEx Analyzer (Excel).
Ex: A COPA BI query when executed on Web/Portal takes 1 Min (60 Sec) to get the results,Same query with same selection variables when executed on BEx Analyzer is taking around 2 Mins (120Sec) to render the results.
I tested around 10 different reports and conclusion is Queries run 2x time fatsre on Web/Portal when compared to executing on BEx Analyzer (Excel).
Is there any technical reasoning behind this,I am investigating on my manager behalf to submit proposal to move BI reporting to SAP.
Any supporting documents (Blogs or SAP Notes) regarding this is will be greatly helpful.

I have requirement in which I need to display 4 graphs based on 4 dimensions:
a) Company Code - CC
b) Profit Centre - PC
c) Location - LO
d) Products. - PR
The graphs are to be made in such a way that user can slice and dice on dimensions.
As of now, we have made an excel sheet in which there are different permutations and combinations of 4 dimension mentioned above. For example:
for example, if user wants to see the graphs on Company Code 'AB' then the data in excel sheet is in format:
AB ALL ALL ALL 500 (Amount)
Now, if user wants to see the report on Company Code 'AB' and Location North then the data in excel sheet is in format:
AB ALL NORTH ALL 400 (Amount)
Likewise, we have to make different permutation and combination of 4 dimensions and the source of data is SAP BW.
So, how should we proceed with the design of cubes or BeX in SAP. Please help.

I am trying to find out Total Number of Days in a Month using Bex.
I am doing as per this thread (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3378518) but I am having trouble selecting “Number of Days” (0numday) as my 0calmonth Attribute in formula variable. "Number of Days" is not available for selection in Attribute drop down.
I checked in BI content and 0numday is already installed. I also reinstalled 0numday but it doesn’t solve the problem.
0calmonth doesn’t have attribute tab in RSA1.
Any idea how to show 0numday as a attribute for 0calmonth ?
Is there other way to calculate total number of days for a month in Bex without using customer exit?

Hi gurus,
I have one web template with 13 queries. The queries are bound to 26 data providers. The first 13 data providers are used for displaying results in Web and the other 13 data providers for export to Excel.
My doubt is, whether the queries are executed sequentially and for each data provider (26 times altogether) or if each query is executed only once and then bound to the data providers.
If the queries are executed by data provider is there a way to prevent the queries necessary only for export to be executed from the initial load of the web template ( so some late binding or execution)?

Hi All,
I have scheduled a workbook that has just 1 query embedded but have 2 settings for different filtered values.
However when I schedule them to run at the same time we get this error :-
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800 0A03EC): Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\BW\Analyzer\Workbooks'. There e are several possible reasons:u2022 The file name or path does not exist.u2022 The file is being used by ano other program.u2022 The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
Having read this post Re: Information Broadcasting - load balancing and followed the instructions in the note mentioned we still get the error even though we have it set to run 1 workbook at a time.
Is there something else we need to do to stop this from happening.

Hello Experts,
Recently my client upgraded Bi 7.02 system to BW 7.3 and also Bex 3.x to Bex 7.X.
Some of my user were facing an over lapping issue.
Workbook contains two queries on same sheet/tab.
When user tried to drill down the first query, first query is overlapping with second query. I thought this report is not
meant for drill down but when i tried to creat in BEX 3.X it is not overlapping and it is prompting to widen the report
which is not happening in BEx 7.X
Please help me. If you need more information to resolve this issues.

Dear Experts,
I developed a BEx query with quotation number as a selection criterion and filter sales org AAA.
In the query, I navigate around 10 attributes from quotation number.
The problem is in the new system there is no quotation for sales org AAA but there are some for other sales orgs.
When I do not input any quotation number in the selection, the query has never stopped running!!!
However, if I choose all quotation numbers in the system, the query shows the result in a second as "No Data Found" (since I also filter Sales Org AAA)
I am afraid of the statement SELECT FOR ALL ENTRIES in the standard program causes this behavior.
Is there any solution for this better than filling all quotation numbers at the selection screen if user do not input any quotation?
