Hi, I have a little issue. i see that now with 7.x bex tools when i save my query like excel file the size is 500kb. the same query on 3.x usually takes 100kb. can i change some parameter to reduce the size?

NOTE:
I did not include the field CALMONTH in both providers since it is not important in this example..We assume that the sets of data above are in same month..
I was able to show the correct output in the first three (3) rows..However, the fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) rows show blank in my report even though I already mark the INDICATOR field as CONSTANT SELECTION..Sixth (6th) row also show incorrect result since it did consider the EXCLUSION of YES in INDICATOR field..Any ideas how can I solve this problem using only the BEx Query Designer? 4th and 5th rows have values of 2200 and 900, respectively, since AAA, BBB, and DDD have YES indicator in the DSO1 so I assume that making the field INDICATOR as constant selection will solve the problem..
I'm planning to add the INDICATOR field in the CUBE2 and do a lookup in DSO as my "LAST RESORT"..Any chance to achieve this using only BEx Query Designer?

BEx query condition at Document Level
Hi,
I have a requirement to have a condition at the BEx query level .
Data:.
Sales Order | Mat Grp | Order Value
10001 | Grp1 | $100
10002 | Grp1 | $200
10003 | Grp1 | $600
10004 | Grp1 | $700
User Input(Variable used in Condition on Order Value):
Order Value : $500 to $1000
(Include only Sales Order having Value between $500 & $1000)
Expected Result Output:
Mat Grp | Order Value
Grp1 | $1300
But the expected result cannot be achieved unless I have Sales Order also in the output(rows).
Is there a feature in BEx that will allow me to achieve this functionality?

BI query language is dutch even though users logon language is English
Hi Everyone
I have a BI report where the column data is displayed in technical name and row data is displayed in Dutch.
I have checked the user profile in both portal and SU01 and also the browser language.All of it is set to english.
No personalization exists for the user in the RSWR_PERS table.
When the user personalizes the data changes back to English but after he logs out and logs in again the report changes back to its previous state.
This is happening for this single query. All others are in English and displayed properly.

BEx Query Optimization
I have a query with 7 chars in rows some 9 RKF`s and 9 Ckf`s and 3 restricitions with one CKF having exceptional aggregation.Problem is the Query is not opening.It opens in rsrt in about 7 mins but doesnt it Analyzer saying Client out of Memory.
On the Cube,i have done compression,enables statistics.Could not create aggregate because i have a Currency char in rows which you cannot define in aggregates.
Please tell me how can i optimize the query and make it run in Analyzer.Cube has 5 lacs records as of yet.

BEx Analyzer: Calling Workbook Settings automatically changes workbook design
Hi folks,
we already migrated our workbooks from 3.5 to 7.x and all of the workbooks even have the same design than before the migration and
this is exactly what we wanted to achieve.
Unfortunately if we call the workbook settings in the design menu of the BEx Analyzer our "old" layout (formats) get lost and the workbook looks kind of weird.
Furthmore the result area starts at another cell than before which is kind of dangerous in case of using formulars with cell reference.
Does anyone know why the formats get lost and if there is a way to keep the layout of a workbook unchanged even working with the workbook settings menu.

SAPgui reinstallation 640 with BI Add-on (due to upgrade to Bi 7.0 )
We are currently upgrading from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0. Due to this we have to reinstall the SAPgui, this time with the feature "BI Add-On" ticked.
We had no problem with most of the clients where this reinstallation was performed.
But on very few clients we get the following error message after SAPgui reinstallation when the Analyzer (= the BI 7.0 successor of the BEx) is called:

at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.LateBinding.LateGet(Object o, Type objType, String name, Object[] args, String[] paramnames, Boolean[] CopyBack)

This error message does not help me very much because it is extremely unspecific...

Query doesn't execute on the Portal and Bex's.

F4 Help Restriction using Std BAdi - BEx report
Dear Experts,
I have created an Implementation on BADI for restricting the value help for hierarchy node variable of OrgUnit (SPRO >> SAP NETWEAVER >> Business Warehouse >> Enhancements >> BAdi: Restricting Value help...).
In this implementation, there is a option of creating combination for filters, which is basically to indicate how the OrgUnit is used in BEx query (i.e. directly from underlying infoprovider or as navigational attirbute). In this filter I have set 3 combinations (with OR condition):
1) 2 for navigational attributes of different master data objects
2) 1 direct object
after implementation of this restriction on value help is working fine for 1st query where is it used as nav attribute if employee master & 2nd query where it is used directly from underlying infoprovider.
Surprisingly it is not working for the case where it is used as navigation attribute of another master data object.

Posting Date Variable
Hi All,
I have a requirement. I need to be able to select a Posting Date Variable (Single Value) at the selection screen to collect all posting values from the beginning of the year regardless of which month and day selected. Example: If I select October 20 2014, I want all posting values that has occurred from January 2014 to date (October 20 2014. Likewise, if I select March 10 2014, I want all posting values that has occurred from January 2014 to date (March 10 2014).

Question on bookmarks
Hi Chaps,
I haved saved the query output as bookmark in browser( IE) after executing from the Bex Query designer. However, when I am trying to open the bookmark the variable pop up is again poping up and asking to input values at the variable screen which is not right. Since I inputed the variables in the first time and saved as bookmarks in the web browser, the variable popup should not appear when I click on book mark from next time.
Can you guys throw some light on this as where I missed it..

Error activating element XXXX in Bex / Transport / Help

i am trying to transport 2 queries from th dev to Qy system. Those queries were transported before without error.
Now i have following errors:

I recollected all objects again in a request anfd it faile once more. The missing objects were collected.
I partially followed SAP Note 1593665 but could unfotunatelly not finalize due to authorization.
I checked in table RSZELTDIR and can see that those elements exit in version A and M but not D.
1. How can i solve the problem?

CKF disappeared while saving Query
Hi Gurus,
We are working on a query that is built on a multi-provider that has around 200 CKFs.
While working on 1 of the CKF, after the saving the changes we suddenly received some Error messages. When analysed, we found that many of the CKFs (around 80) were reset to blank the formulae inside them had disappeared.
as the number is very high we are finding it difficult to rebuilt the CKFs.
However, we found that there are still some entries in the RSZCALC for those CKFs, but we are unsure how we can use this information to rebuild lost CKF formulae.
it would be a great help to us if any of you have faced similar issue or can guide us how we can proceed without rebuilding CKFs.

BW 7.4 - Support for old BEx Web 3.x runtime?
Hello,
Let me preface by saying that I know BEx 3.x Front-end tools are out of maintenance so my question is not about BEx QD or WAD.

What I cannot find is any definitive documentation about the old 3.x ABAP Web runtime being supported or not.
Does anyone know if:
1) BEx Web 3.x runtim is supported by SAP?
2) If not, is is still technically functioning, or has it been deliberately disabled?
We still have some hold-outs running in BEx 3.x Web runtime for old reasons like Table APIs or stubbornness, etc. As we plan to move from 7.31 to 7.4, I am just curious if they will be impacted or not.

0CALMONTH Variable -1 OFFSET not working
Hello Experts -
I have a structure and a variable with single-value entry. The variable is on 0CALMONTH.
If user input 12/2014, I wanted to see information of the Previous Month. I'm using a variable offset. But my report output is always for 12/2014. I have data for 05/2007 and 04/2007 also.
In the column header, it shows 11/2014 but there's not data. I am using SAP 7.30 version.

How to AND 2 Characteristic Selections in one Keyfigure?
Dear BEx gurus,
I am working on one of BEx queries, where I need to calculate the number of vehicles who have replaced the given part.
Here, my first Keyfigure should count the number of vehicles who have replaced the Part A(Inner) and the 2nd Keyfigure should count the number of vehicles who have replaced the Part B(Outer). And, the 3rd Keyfigure should count the vehicles who have replaced BOTH the Parts A & B.
But, with my current query definition, I am able to achieve only the number of vehicles who have replaced at least one of these 2 Parts(Part A OR Part B). I need to count the number of vehicles who have replaced BOTH i.e., Part A AND Part B.

Here is the output of my query, I want to count the vehicles where both the parts have been replaced. But, with my current query, it is not giving me the desired output.
2nd Column gives the number of vehicles where Part A(Inner) is replaced.
3rd Column gives the number of vehicles where Part B(Outer) is replaced.
4th Column is currently working on OR operation. i.e., it is counting the vehicles where either of the parts is replaced. But, my desired output for that column is, it should count only if both the columns are 1. Which means it should AND the column 2 & Column 3.
The 4th column should not count the below highlighted rows and it should give me the result as 13 instead of 17.

Characteristic along with its keyfigure attribute together in the cube
Hello All,
I have created a characteristic (EMP) with a keyfigure (SAL) and its respective unit as an attribute to it. ofcourse a display attribute as keyfigures cannot be navigational.
Now I want both the characteristic (EMP) and keyfigure (SAL) to be part of the cube which I am unable to do so.
Can anyone please suggest any solution for this issue? May be I am missing something here...

Derive variable in customer exit sap bi
Hi,
i have create the variabile1 and variable2 of type customer exit.
The variabile1 is mandatory read for input for pop-up and in the customer exit is filled in step=1 with SY-DATUM.
In step=2 i want fill the variable2 with the variable1 (the user can be change from pop-up) but unfortunately this variable2 don't filled.
In debug, i see that the table i_t_var_range is empty in step=2.
If the variable1 is not filled in step=1 then the variable2 is filled because the table i_t_var_range is not empty.
How to do ?
