I am having a problem when adding a new characteristic restriction to a filter in a BEx query. I've tried it on BW 7.31 SPS 10 and 7.31 SPS14and it doesn't work in either.
The query is using a characteristic value variable so that users can select from a list of values. The variable is based on a navigational attribute. The filter originally was restricting 4 sales branches. When I add a new restriction I right click, restrict and pull over the new sales branch, select "exclude in selection" and then save the query. But when I run the query in RSRT it ignores the change and the restricted Sales Branch still appears in the list of values.
I created a new query by copying the original query, removed all the restrictions, added just the new one and saved the query. Running it through RSRT it still lists the sales branch and does not list the other 4 sales branches.
Is there another way to set filters that my query could be using?
We use BICS connections and Analysis for OLAP reports.
If I run the queries through BEx Analyser and double click next to the field name under filter then pick "single values", it correctly displays the list of values. If I click the icon "BEx Analysis Toolbox Change Variable Values" which brings up the filter box that is the same as when I run the query in RSRT and in an Analysis for OLAP report, then pick Single Values, it does not show the list correctly.
I have not modified query filters since upgrading from 7.1 to 7.3.
I checked note 1921770 but it looks like that is for BEx Analyzer only. It is not applied in my system. I also looked at 1931709 but I'm not getting an actual error.
Thank you for your help,
Susan
