We are testing this version of Bex and have a use that apparently lost custom user settings on filter selection criteria. Has anyone seen this before?

F4 Help not working in Portal but works fine in RSRT

Searched but didn't find any post in SCN which solved my issue.
Issue Details:
The Variable screen gets hung/stuck when i click on F4 help for an Infoobject (not a nav. attr.) in portal.
But If I put some value for the variable having issue in the variable screen and then click on F4 it works fine only if I do not put any value and click on F4 help it doesn't work.
And It works fine when I run it from RSRT with HTML mode for all cases.
Notes:
- I'm currently on 7.4
- F4 help works fine for other variables except only one in portal.
- Tried all combinations in BEx query settings like Values from master data/values in infoprovider etc
Could anyone please help on this.

Passing Query ID to data provider in WAD URL
Hi,
Is there a way to pass query ID to a data provider in a WAD template through URL. Here the idea is to have the same template but feed it with different query IDs.
Background of this requirement:
We use two queries to suffice the requirement of one set of user groups having to plan for the same set of key figures which another user group should have only read access . We tried to do this via the analysis authorization but somehow the system doesn't seem to allow to provide only read access when a query is set for planning. Hence we decide to use two queries with the same structure one planning enabled and the other planning disabled. Now to reduce the effort to maintain two web templates we would like to use one web template design and pass the query ids via the URL.
Is there a way can we do this?

BEx query not showing any data but data is available in Data target

I have create a query based virtual info provider. virtual infoprovider based on analytical view.
I have filter some characteristic in key filed.

prod hier
material
kilometer
under prod_hier many subcategory is there like A,B,C,D
Case 1.if I am filter the prod_hier A,B,C,Data is shows but
when I am add a D in pro_hier and run the query,the output is shows Blank.
Case 2. if i am create two key filed and restrict the prod_hier

In this case data is showing.

Problem accessing BEx :SAP_CMINIT3 : rc=20 > Connect to SAP gateway failed
I have an issue when accessing either Query Designer or BEx Analyzer on my desktop.
I can access the SAP BW back-end system with no problem, but when I try to connect to either QD or BEx, as soon as I enter my login details, I get the following error message:

I can login to QD or BEx using any other desktop, but cannot access using my own. This is the same for other people, they also cannot access using my desktop. I have reloaded the SAP applications, but this has made no difference.
I cannot ping or telnet the server IP address - these time out and cannot connect.
I have copied the Hosts file from a colleague, but this has made no difference. I also tried changing the IP address, for the actual name in the SAP Logon menu, but again this made no difference.
Any advice would be appreciated!

broadcasting of bex reports
hello all,
I'm trying schedule the broadcast of my bex reports to end users through e-mail and i have learned that the best option is bex information broadcasting but unfortunately the java stack is not installed in my system and this is mandatory for using this future so I'm looking for a workaround and i found something about the precalculation server that can be used for generating bex workbook and broadcast them
my questions are :
1/what's exactly the pre calculation server and how is working and how can i broadcast the bex workbook with this future ?
2/ Is the pre calculation server working without the need of java stack installed ?
3/ the bex information broadcasting need a precalculation server for running or not ?

Authorization change in query designer with EHP1
Dear all,
We installed the EHP1 recently , but now we receive a "Authorization Change not available for Query <xxx>" error when trying to open a query. Unfortunately I couldnt determine an error number. In the authorization trace via ST01 I only see entries with RC = 0.

Dynamic Authorization on YWBS_ELEM Char doesn't work in Quality System
Dear all,
As part of creating authorizations for BEx reports, we created dynamic authorizations on YWBS_ELEM. A custom exit variable was created for this and the code was written in CMOD in such a manner that the report should fetch the list of all Line Managers and their corresponding projects under a particular Project Manager. If the Line Manager is allocated to another project, it will not show his details. Its mapped with the system user ID and the Project id which is YWBS_ELEM. This code is successfully working in DEV environment. We transported all the static and dynamic analysis authorizations and roles into Quality system.
Now in Quality system none of the dynamic authorizations are working. Static authorizations are working as they should.
When I execute a report with a user having dynamic authorization I get a warning You do not have analysis authorization for any char. values of char. YWBS_ELEM
I've checked and compared the analysis authorization, role, the ABAP code and the custom exit variables in Query designer in DEV and QTY systems and they are exactly the same. But I don't understand where is the error.
The details of the error are given below: Please advise.
Diagnosis
You do not have sufficient authorization for the InfoProvider &2.
System Response
When the query is started, the system checks whether you have authorization to access the InfoProvider. This does not involve a detailed data authorization check.
Procedure
Ask the system administrator to give you sufficient authorization for the requested activity and the InfoProvider.
Note that the authorization must be valid for today's date.

Information Broadcaster- change attachment filename

Now we have the problem that we want to change the generated attachment filename to a more meanful name.

BEx Analyzer 3.5 and SAP GUI 7.40
I have been researching to see if BEx Analyzer 3.5 will work with SAP GUI 7.40. We currently have it working with SAP GUI 7.30. Please note that we have NetWeaver 7.3 Support Pack 4 running in our BI system. Our BW platform is also on 7.3, while our BI_CONT is on 735 support pack 4. I have read various SAP notes, but other than telling me that BW 3.5 is NOT supported on BW 7.4, I do not know if this will be supported or not. Can anyone confirm or deny?

The "Use Selection of Structure Elements" Option in RSRT Query Properties
Hi, does anyone know the side effect of enabling this option for all BEx Queries? The help states the following: "The Use Selection of Structure Elements option can be selected for any query; however, it is only useful in some cases. In queries, selections are frequently based on one or more characteristics in the columns, or more precisely, in the structure elements. One or more of these structure elements are often filtered in the BEx Analyzer or in BEx Web applications. If you do not select the Use Selection of Structure Elements option, these dynamic (structure element) selections are not transferred to the database. Normally, the data for the entire structure or for both structures is then read from the database." It sounds to me that there is no harm in checking this flag all the time, but what is confusing is the default state of this option; i.e. unchecked.
I would appreciate if someone can clarify the downside of checking this flag.

Query Inconsistent due to CKF

I cannot even open the query and view the CKF as it gives me the runtime error . So I cannot edit the CKF.

How to chante the PDF File Name in Broadcasting

Could you help me?, I am in a project where the customer need the Following requirement with the PDF File Name in the Broadcasting:
I am configuring one distribution Job in Broadcasting configuration Tab this Job need send a report via E-Mail in PDF Format, but the customer requirement is that the file name is sent with the description name and not with the technical name from report.
Then, some of you know "How change the name to the PDF File that is sent in the Distribution Jobs, I need the Description name, because actually the E-mail send the PDF File with the Technical Name, and the user does not want in that way".

Moving filter from Default values to specific columns
Hi,
I have got a Bex query on multprovider which consists of 2 cubes, Actual and forecast are the names. WBS element is common in both cubes, with that in the report we got 2 restricted keyfigures for actuals and forecast respectively.
Document type is only available in Actual cube but not in forecast cube. So with that it will be unassigned value for the rows where forecast exists. which is fine as expected.
Issue, Some times users wanted to keep a filter on document type to exclude # values to analyze the actuals correctly. when this action is performed, forecast is completely gone for that WBS element, because forecast cube also gets the unassigned value always for document type.
Users wanted to see the forecast when they filter on document type to exclude #.
Note: The document type is in the default values section of the report, so that is the reason, it is effecting to all the columns in the report. I wanted to make this filter to RKF but having some constraints.
Can you provide any option to this issue,

BEx works on Office 64bit?
