BEx variable selection values issue?

Hi,

I have a query which contains calday variable. Variable details are "Selection values, Mandatory". I executed a query and in variable i am trying to >= 01.01.2014. for this it is giving me error showing that " For variable calday =01.01.2014 is not available.

when i give >01.01.2014 it is accepting and also =01.01.2014 also it is accepting abut it is not accepting >=01.01.2014. i dont understand is this some kind of limitation for variables or i am doing some mistake.I have 01.01.2014 record as well as >01.012014 records are there.

Kindly help me on this.
